Gregory L. Segall
Chairman and CEO
For over 30 years, Mr. Segall has
engaged in managing and investing in businesses across
a wide variety of industries and circumstances. He
has led Versa and its predecessors since their founding
in 1992 and has overall responsibility for leadership
and supervision of the firm and its affiliated
investment funds.
He is Chairman of the Investment committee and is
actively involved in overseeing all of Versa's
investments working closely with the other members
of the Versa team. He is currently a Director of
Versa's portfolio companies Allen-Vanguard
International (defense and commercial electronics),
Alex Apparel (wholesale apparel) and Silver Airways
(transportation/airlines), and is a past director of
numerous businesses both within and outside of Versa's
portfolio.
Mr. Segall is an expert in distressed and 'special situations'
investing, as well as business strategy and performance
improvement including operational transitions, turnarounds,
renewals, restructurings and reorganizations. His expertise in corporate finance and governance has developed over a career managing and deploying capital through equity, credit/debt and other transaction structures involving both public and private companies. He has been a
speaker, panelist and lecturer on many of these topics for
industry and professional associations, conferences and other
organizations including higher education institutions in law and business.
Prior to Versa, Mr. Segall was a Managing Director with
Sigoloff & Associates, Inc., an international crisis
management advisory firm. He is a graduate of
Pepperdine University, where he received his MBA,
and he has completed the Presidents Seminar at the
Harvard Business School. He is a member of the international
organizations known as CEO (Chief Executives Organization)
and YPO (Young Presidents' Organization).
Mr. Segall is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of
the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts; he is past President
and Trustee of the Children's Crisis Treatment Center, and
a past member of the Board of Directors of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.
